Competition Regulations

These regulations are a translation of the Dutch competition regulation. In the case of inconsistencies, the Dutch version is leading.

Use of Image

Participants agree to the use of their likeness in print, photographs, film, video, and other promotional materials of the Berden Voorjaarsloop. No compensation can be claimed for this.

Own Risk and Liability

• Personal responsibility: Participation in the Berden Voorjaarsloop is entirely at the participant’s own risk and responsibility.
• Force majeure: The organization cannot be held liable for personal costs if the event is cancelled due to force majeure.
• No refund: If the Berden Voorjaarsloop is cancelled at a late stage due to force majeure, no refund of registration fees will be provided.
• No new date: In case of cancellation due to force majeure, no new date will be scheduled. The next edition will take place one year later.

Payment and Registration

• The registration fee must be received by Scopias Atletiek no later than two days before the date of the event.
• Resale: Resale of starting numbers is not permitted.
• Transfer of starting number: Transfer of a starting number is permitted. This must be arranged directly between the original participant and the recipient. The original registration will not be modified.
• Change of distance: Changing the distance is possible, with any additional payment if applicable. The final date for this is stated on the website.
• Cancellation: Cancellation of a registration is possible, but no refund of the registration fee will be provided.

Timekeeping and Chips

The timing chip must be returned after the race. If the chip is not returned, the organization will charge € 7.50.

Ways to return the chip:

1. Hand it in to staff members at the finish area during the event.
2. Return it by 12:00 PM at the bib distribution point at Den Hulster on the day of the event.
3. Return it at the Scopias Atletiek clubhouse:
   Hulsforthofweg 15, Venlo.
4. Send it by mail to:
   Race Secretary Berden Voorjaarsloop
   Vijverhofstraat 80, 5913 TV Venlo.

Competition Rules and Safety

• No time limit: The Berden Voorjaarsloop has no time limit.
  However, the organization reserves the right to remove participants from the race if traffic safety is at risk.
• Minimum participation: If there are fewer than 10 participants in a category, the category will be cancelled. The organization will place participants in another category.
• Loss of personal belongings: Scopias Atletiek is not liable for the loss of clothing or other personal belongings.
